OFFICE OF MULTI-ETHNIC STUDENT EDUCATION

La Familia Mentoring program was established in 2000 to assist Hispanic/Latino/a first year students as well as transfers with their college transition by providing one-on-one guidance and support through the use of peer mentors. The program helps fill the gap of support system by providing mentees with academic and network support.

We are currently accepting Mentor and Mentee applications for the 2009-2010 academic school year. As a La Familia Mentor, you will be able to serve as a role model to incoming Hispanic/Latino/a first-year students, attend events with your mentee throughout the year, make recommendations about the many resources available on campus, be an academic support for your mentee, and have fun! As a La Familia Mentee, you will be able to explore the campus with one-on-one guidance, attend events with your mentor throughout the year, use the many resources available to you on campus, engage in other cultures and backgrounds, and have academic support. More.
